The best Jamming 101 Workshop Leaders are often public teachers whose entertaining personalities are underappreciated or entertainers wanting a more stable income. With Jamming 101’s unique concept of “Edutainment” we can tap into our naturally humorous personalities to coat the pill of educating.

Workshop Leaders will find they can finally be themselves; that person who cracks jokes, tells timeless stories at social gatherings, joins a campfire sing-a-long, or loves to share stories of memorable performances. Musicians are always validated by being asked about their craft, so being surrounded by a circle of attentive fans is very fulfilling.

For myself, seeing the face of a first time jammer light up at one of my workshops as they fit in for the first time is food for my soul. Not to wax philosophical, but regardless of ones beliefs, people generally agree that being truly happy involves receiving prosperity from what you naturally enjoy doing. Jamming 101 is perfect for the store manager who daydreams of the stage, the guitarist struggling by with small gigs or the music teacher who has lost their classroom. All these people deserve to have their talents recognized that go unappreciated at their day jobs. As long as these dreams cause frustration and are unfulfilled those folks may never be truly happy.

It's a reality that we all have to keep the bread on the table. Most of us don’t have the luxury of time or money to invest in huge new career ideas. That’s where Jamming 101 is different: start small, teach a couple of workshops on weekends and augment your income in a few hours. No big commitment, no change in your current occupation. I did both for awhile, then when the workshops really took off I was able to cut back on my “real job.” Eventually the workshops were so much more fun, and half the time commitment that the decision was ridiculously simple: Jamming 101 full time!

Now, looking back over my “trail of careers” before Jamming 101, I can see certain qualities I was always looking for in my work, and I trust some will ring familiar: smaller time commitment, better money for the time, more fun work environments (outside!), more control  (no boss!) and closer to my personal interests (Jamming!). No, it’s not; it’s your new job! I remember looking around me several years ago at a workshop in Yosemite, California (Strawberry Music Festival) and thinking “This is my new office! Wow!”
