Fall Strawberry 2010
in CA
Strawberry Festival returns, even bigger! The fall festival is quite a blow out, with enough jamming to satisfy even the total fanatic. Whereas the spring Strawberry is smaller and not so hot weathered, this event is great for sun lovers and those who like non stop action. You’ll see more jams, parties, and general musical mayhem than ever at the fall Strawberry, and be sure to come by Sid’s Camp Stop Jamming for the live Hog Ranch Radio broadcast (usually Saturday night after the main stage). This is the big blow out, don’t miss it!
Workshop schedule: Workshops are 10 am, Friday thru Sunday. We'll gather on the lawn at Birch Lake, next to the bike corral. Bring your instrument and any music you may need, and prepare to have BIG fun!
For more information: For gen info call the Strawberry office @ 1-209-984-8630, or just go to the site (click on the Strawberry title) and explore!

the KVMR Celtic Music festival
in Grass Valley, CA
Jamming 101 is a staple at one of the most theatrical and playful festivals of the year: the KVMR Celtic festival! This fun weekend is like a trip back in time, filled with dancing, great Celtic music and games. These classes will not only feature his usual mix of bluegrass and folk favorites, but will include the must-haves of Irish jam music. You’ll learn the tricks of strumming DADGAD guitar, session medley’s, the role of each instrument in Celtic music...and even how to “sit out” a chune if you don’t know it! (that’s how we say “tune” in an Irish jam). “Celtic and Irish sessions are some of the more mysterious jams for beginners, and I’ll sure you leave Jamming 101 with all you need to play confidently at the next jam you’re in. Come one, come all…the session’s crackin! The schedule for the entire festival is now available here (Jamming 101 is one the Oak Grove Stage column)...print it out and be the first to Jamming 101 for the good seats! (they fill up fast)
Workshop schedule: All classes are held at the "Oak Grove/Druid stage"
Saturday there will be a morning and an evening class: 11:30am, and 4:30pm
Sunday there will one morning class, 11:45am.
